The salmon shark is a species of mackerel shark found in the northern Pacific ocean. As an apex predator, the salmon shark feeds on salmon, squid, sablefish, and herring.

These sharks inhabit both oceanic and coastal waters, usually with temperatures of 36.5°-75.2°F (2.5°-24°C) at depths of up to 500 ft (152.4 m).
